Job Description

POSITION INFORMATION:  Assist the Director of the Cancer Rehabilitation Research Laboratory (CRRL) in planning, conducting, and closing human subjects research projects involving cancer patients and normal control participants. In achieving this purpose, the student research assistant will also report to the CRRL Program Coordinator.

 

Direct in-person and remote (phone/video) contact with research participants, during conduct of human subjects' research activities, including: recruitment, accrual, scheduling, informed consent, eligibility determination/ baseline testing, outcomes assessment with patient-report and physical performance measures, provision of rehabilitation-related interventions, monitoring adherence to study interventions, activities to optimize participant retention.

 

Assistance with research data management, such as: daily/weekly checks of data integrity and protocol fidelity; assistance with internal audits; design, use and revision of data collection/storage forms (REDCap, Velos, mHealth mobile phone applications); cleaning data repositories/ spreadsheets in preparation for dissemination and reporting of findings.

 

 

Job Requirements

Required Education:


  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at the University of Oklahoma. 

Certifications/Licenses:

  • Oklahoma state Driver's License.

Skills:

  • Good written and verbal communication skills, attention to details, empathy, and interested in serving people with cancer
  • Must be detailed oriented, self-motivated and reliable.

Advertised Physical Requirements:
  • Will be required to transport and operate research equipment including weights, and to assist patients in maintaining their balance (physical spotting) during test of balance and walking.
