Job Summary

Under the direction of the Student Aid Accounting Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the processes and reconciliations of the Non-Resident Alien Tax Withholdings, International Program Students, President/Cole Scholarships invoicing, Loan Cancellations, annual Franchise Tax Board Intercepts and 1098-T processes and submissions in a timely manner. Reconciliation of the Funds/Accounts is performed to ensure the integrity of financial data related to the timely processing of these processes.


Knowledge Skills and Abilities

Comprehensive knowledge of financial record-keeping methods, procedures, and practices; arithmetic; and general office procedures. Thorough knowledge of governmental financial record-keeping methods preferred. Ability to interpret a wide variety of written rules and regulations; maintain accounting records for funds, programs, or activities involving multiple transactions; compile, verify, and reconcile financial data; prepare trail balances, financial statements, and reports; investigate and resolve errors and discrepancies; and interpret computer generated reports. Good working knowledge of accounting theory and practices with emphasis on Accounts Receivable in a highly automated environment for a large enterprise. Excellent customer service skills, which include ability to understand, interpret, and communicate complex rules and policies. Good working knowledge of both mainframe and personal computer applications, which include Word processing and spreadsheet software.

Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.  Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.  Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."


Education and Experience

• Equivalent to four years of progressively responsible financial record-keeping experience is required.

• Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge and abilities. Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field preferred.

Compensation

The targeted salary may be set as high as $3,750 per month based on experience. The salary range for this classification is $3,532 to $6,198 per month.

Time Base

Full-time temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date. The incumbent in this position will be required to work on campus.
