Job Description


The SPTC Student Office Assistant will be responsible for:


  • Greet guests, answer phones, and answer questions for faculty, staff, students, and visitors daily.

  • Manage and develop content for the SPTC website, including content management, enhancement, and formatting.  Also, maintain the 2019 CUTC website.

  • Take and prepare minutes for meetings

  • Update media pages weekly (articles, updates, news, etc.)

  • Design and manage event organizers for seminars, workshops and short courses

  • Archive and consolidating documents

  • Check inventory and order office supplies

  • Create and distribute mass communications on behalf of SPTC

  • Provide general maintenance of office equipment

  • trouble shooting office technology issues that arise on occasion
  • Run errands to main campus (mail, personal deliveries)

  • Work with the SPTC team, help to organize and plan events

  • Set up and conduct webinars

  • Proofread documents, reports, and papers

  • Provide assistance within the office, as needed

Job Requirements


Required Education: Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

  • Must attach Spring, Summer and/or Fall 2019 class schedule.



  • General office/clerical duties
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills 
  • Customer service

Advertised Physical Requirements:

  • Standard office environment
  • Must be able to carry up to 45 pounds

Department Preferences:

  • Employment is for the Spring 2019 and Summer 2019 semesters.  Student may be continued for FALL 2019 semester pending evaluation.
