Self-Help - Graduate Digital Curation Student Assistant

ECU Joyner Library is currently seeking a Graduate Digital Curation Student Assistant. This employee will gain hands-on experience with data analysis and cleanup, archival management software, and quality assurance and assist with metadata projects in the Digital Curation unit of ECU Joyner Library Special collections.

Our selected candidate will:

-Work with the Access Archivist to identify data discrepancies
-Run macros to clean, parse, and manipulate data
-Manage intellectual content through archival management software
-Perform other tasks as assigned by their supervisor

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be comfortable with Microsoft Excel and be acquainted with or have an interest in xml and programming logic, will communicate clearly, and will be willing to provide regular informal reports on progress.

The selected candidate must be able to safely lift up to 50 lbs and have no strong allergies to dust and mold.

All Joyner Library student employees must wear masks.

The selected candidate will work between 4-8 hours per week. Scheduling will be coordinated directly with the Access Archivist. All work hours must take place when the Access Archivist is on premises.
