| Job Description | ECU Joyner Library Services is currently seeking Digitization Graduate Assistants. Responsibilities may include digitizing and processing images, text, audio, and videos for online display; creating or updating database records; quality checking; and basic proofreading. Generating digital surrogates via scanning,. Harvesting preservation metadata using various command line scripts. Manipulating and consolidating data in Microsoft Excel and Word. Creating derivatives of scanned items that are displayed in the department’s online repository. Post processing image files to fulfill the requirements of the library and/or library patrons. Examples of the department’s work can be found at http://digital.lib.ecu.edu/. Basic computer skills and attention to detail are required. Scanning, database, and OCR software training will be provided |
