Job Description

Georgia Tech Research Institute's (GTRI) Air National Guard Program Office (ANGPO) in the Electronic Systems Laboratory (ELSYS) currently seeks student assistants starting fall 2022 semester. The students will work under the guidance of GTRI researchers to help set up and manage the new GTRI SEEDLab Makerspace. Duties will include:

• Complete setup and organization of the SEEDLab space
• Maintain the SEEDLab equipment to keep everything in working order
• Maintain the SEEDLab space to keep it organized and usable
• Help train makerspace users on safety and use of equipment
• Help makerspace users with equipment issues as needed
• Help maintain the SEEDLab Confluence site


Required Minimum Qualifications

Student Assistant/Research Assistant

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering
  • Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
  • 2.0 or higher cumulative GPA

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in 3D printing, laser engravers/cutters, woodworking equipment, etc.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or SolidWorks software
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate and train others

Hours per Week

10–20 hours per week
