About the Opportunity
Multiple Scholarship Specialist positions are open in the Opportunity Scholarship and Education Student Accounts (ESA+) Programs due to significant increases planned for these two scholarship programs over the next five years. These programs are for kindergarten through twelfth grade students who will attend private or home schools. The primary purpose of the Scholarship Specialist position is to provide customer service and administrative support to parents, as a subject matter expert for either the Opportunity Scholarship or the ESA+. Responsibilities include providing customer service and communicating program information, policies, and procedures to parents of students, nonpublic school officials, and other stakeholders; planning and organizing activities related to applications, documentation, and disbursement of funds; maintaining records and preparing data for review; as well as problem-solving process and procedural issues that families are experiencing. The person in this position will join a dynamic team of professionals with strong management and will have opportunities to learn new skills while assisting North Carolina families with important school choice processes.

About the North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority
The North Carolina State Education Assistance Authority (NCSEAA), an agency of the State of North Carolina, is authorized by the General Assembly to plan, finance and administer student financial assistance programs of a statewide or inter-institutional nature. It serves students attending public and private two- and four-year colleges and universities in North Carolina, as well as families of students attending nonpublic K-12 schools.

About the Team
The Division of K12 Programs at SEAA administers two financial aid programs for kindergarten through twelfth grade students who will attend private or home schools. Together, the Opportunity Scholarship and Education Student Accounts (ESA+) Scholarship award over $200 million to approximately 40,000 students each year. Both Programs have scheduled increases for future legislative allocations and will grow significantly in the next five years. The Division manages customer service to parents of the student scholarship recipients and provides support and oversight to over 600 K12 nonpublic schools receiving funds on behalf of students.

Minimum Education, Experience, and Skills
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
