Job Summary:

This position is responsible for grant administration for the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology, specifically the Mucosal Inflammation/GI and Liver Innate Immune Programs. This includes providing support for grant submissions and managing all aspects of pre & post-award.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on all aspects of grant administration.
  • Assists with grant writing and proposal management.
  • Designs and maintains an intake process for enacting a project priority list as well as a tracking progress to document outcomes (e.g., if the grant was funded)
  • Interprets sponsor guidelines and seeks clarification from sponsor when needed.
  • Leads full lifecycle editing and writing support for grant submissions, including creating proposal work plans, managing timelines and proposal milestones, coordinating meetings and documents within sponsored program seeking teams.
  • Management of sponsored project budgets post-award according to sponsor and UCD policies

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, social/behavioral sciences, physical sciences, nursing, healthcare, finance, accounting, business administration, business, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years of experience with grant administration.

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Four (4) plus years of experience with grant administration.
  • Pre- and/or Post-Award experience as a research administrative professional at an academic medical institution.
  • Three (3) or more years of experience managing large, multi-disciplinary, multi-institutional NIH research grants.
  • Experience with University of Colorado software and applications [e.g., InfoEd (proposal development and routing); m-Fin (reports); CU Marketplace (procurement); PeopleSoft HCM and Finance; Concur Travel and Expense System].

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.
  • Experience in research administration, grant funding, forecasting, financial management and budgeting.

    Anticipated Pay Range:

    The starting salary range (or hiring range ) for this position has been established as $59,665- $75,894.

    The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

    This position may be eligible for overtime compensation depending on the level.
