Job Description:

Champlain College is hiring a full-time registered nurse to be an integral part of our small, dynamic, and growing Student Health and Wellness Center. The RN will work closely with our nurse practitioners in providing acute care and preventive health services to our undergraduate and graduate student body, including taking a lead role in student-patient triage. 

In our small and busy office, the RN will manage patient flow; supply inventory; lab and phlebotomy practices and immunization compliance. We are looking for an RN with strong triage and patient assessments skills as well as experience in working in outpatient health settings. There will be an opportunity for the RN to be involved in COVID-related work as well, including contact tracing.

The RN will also support health promotion and education initiatives on campus, assist in developing and delivering programs created by the health center staff, as well as train peer health educators to outreach into the student body.

We are looking for an RN with a passion for working with students of the traditional undergraduate age population and a desire to be a leader in a dynamic and growing program.


Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse Licensure
  • Good standing with Vermont State Board of Nursing
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Strong clinical skills, and ability to work independently and triage student health needs
  • Strong organizational skills and desire to creatively problem solve
  •  Strong leadership skills and interest in health education and promotion
