JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

This position will assist Humanities and the Office of Medical Education faculty with preparation, submission, and post-award management of funded projects, as well as "academic maintenance" activities necessary for faculty to be productive. This includes:

Pre-Award Support (Preparation/Submission)

-Identify comprehensive list of requirements for grant application

-Work with PI to establish who has primary responsibility for each component

-Ensure all institutional components (eg, PIAF, description of facilities) are completed

-Ensure project team members provide all necessary materials (eg, documentation needed for sub-awards, biosketches)

-Gather necessary information (eg, F&A rates, cost-share agreements) and collaborate with PI to complete all project-specific components (eg, budget, budget justification, personnel, recruitment tables)

-Format, collate, and submit grant applications to the Office of Research Affairs

-Serve as the primary liaison with the Office of Research Affairs


Post-Award Support

-Assist with payment and record-keeping of invoices and services (eg, web hosting agreements, contracts)

-Work with Chief Admin in Humanities to provide PI with budget reports

-Assist faculty with follow-on activities related to the funded project (eg, annual progress reports to funding body, no-cost extensions)

Academic Maintenance

-Assist primary Humanities faculty to keep research profiles and biosketches updated

-Ensure ongoing compliance with PSU expectations regarding Activity Insight accounts, PURE pages, and Open Access publication requirements

-Identify research funding opportunities and share with Humanities faculty as per their respective areas of interest

-Assist with logistics coordination for planned or ongoing projects

-Assist with project activities involving REDCap

-Assist with formatting of manuscripts for publication

-Assist with regulatory compliance issues (eg, tracking protocol-specific certifications, CITI training status, submitting IRB modifications)

Typically requires an Associate's Degree or higher, 2+ years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position: 

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check 
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History- 
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
