JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Office of the Vice President for Commonwealth Campuses is seeking a Pre-award Grant Relations professional who will foster and encourage sponsored projects at University College campuses, as well as Penn State Abington and Penn State Great Valley. This position reports to the Senior Associate Dean for Faculty and Research and Interim Dean of the University College.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Creating budgets, reviewing and editing proposals, completing required forms and submitting proposals

  • Communicating funding opportunities, leading workshops and liaising with central sponsored programs offices on behalf of the University College, Penn State Abington and Penn State Great Valley

  • Managing pre-award research administration for external funding for University College, Abington and Great Valley faculty and staff

  • Handling all aspects of the submission of proposals including reviewing guidelines, establishing timelines, coordinating the submission review and approval process, and proposal submission

  • Serving as the pre-award point-of-contact and responsible for researching University policies, answering questions about grant programs and guidelines, coordinating document signoffs, helping find funding sources, coordinating with the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), and advocating for campus personnel in requesting indirect cost waivers and other considerations from OSP staff

The location of this position is flexible and can operate fully remote within the United States, fully in-person at our University Park Campus, or in a hybrid model of both in-person and remote. Standard working hours are in the eastern time zone.

Education and experience:

This job will be filled at a Senior or Principal level. Typically requires a Master's Degree and 2 years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience for a Senior level. Additional education and/or experience required for higher level jobs.

Preference will be given to candidates who have Delegated Signature Authority through PSU and/or Certified Research Administrator credentialing.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$56,200.00 - $89,600.00
