JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The College of Engineering’s Office of Research Administration (OERA) at Penn State is seeking a Proposal and Award Generalist - Intermediate Professional to provide support to College of Engineering researchers on the administrative and financial management of sponsored research awards. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  •  Reviewing award documents.

  •  Initiating account setup.

  •  Executing budget actions.

  •  Initiating and monitoring subawards, as well as processing invoice payments.

  •  Tracking cost share commitments.

  •  Processing no cost extensions and change of PI requests.

  • Preparing and submitting sponsor financial reports and invoice expenditure detail.

  • Overseeing account close-out. 

The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a comprehensive understanding of funding policies, regulations, and procedures to effectively administer awards and assist in determining the allocability, allowability, reasonableness, and consistency of costs in accordance with award guidelines. The Proposal and Award Generalist will provide invaluable guidance to departmental offices on Post-Award matters. 

This position typically requires an associate's degree or higher and at least two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will be a conscientious and detail-oriented individual who can perform work activities in a high-volume, fast-paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment. Experience with university accounting and research administration, as well as knowledge of university financial policies and procedures, are preferred. University system experience, such as Strategic Information Management System (SIMS), Penn State's System for Integrated Management, Budget, and Accounting (SIMBA), and Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP), is preferred. Graduates of the ACOR Certification and Education Series (ACES) program are preferred.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$46,400.00 - $67,300.00
