JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Eberly College of Science is seeking a dynamic, hardworking, highly skilled professional for the position of Proposal and Awards Generalist (Advanced Professional). This position will report to the Pre-Award Grants and Contract Manager in a fast paced, complex, detailed, and multifaceted environment. Responsible for assisting in the administration of policies and procedures concerning the preparation and development of proposals and contracts for funding sponsored programs. Review, analyze, and process proposals, contracts, and grants from various federal, state, local agencies and private corporations and foundations. Advise faculty and staff in interpreting and adhering to sponsor and University guidelines and regulations. This position works with various Central offices including the Office of Sponsored Programs to finalize agreements.

Education and Experience

Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. We are looking for someone with excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills and who is capable of working both independently and as a team player. The ability to multitask and respond professionally in challenging situations is essential.

Post-award experience is helpful but not required. Graduate of the Penn State ACOR Certification and Education Series (ACES) program, knowledge of MS Office, Adobe Acrobat, SIMS and SIMS Budget, WorkLion, Excel, and various electronic proposal submission processes is preferred.

The pay range for this position, including all possible grades is:

$51,000.00 - $74,000.00
