The Program Manager would serve as one of the operational team leads in the Financial Aid & Scholarship Office. This position would develop a plan to grow the Financial Wellness Center and Outreach Program for the UTC Financial Aid & Scholarship Office. The Program Manager would assist the Director in creating and planning the communication for all publications (printing, email campaigns, social media).  This position would assist in coordinating the Financial Wellness Center and Financial Aid & Scholarship Event calendar along with outreach initiatives in the community. The Program Manager would manage Peer Financial Coaches/Student Workers and provide regular training for full-time staff.  This position would also handle email responses from the designated email inbox and outreach communication plans. The Program Manager would collaborate with the Director on the creation, printing, proofing, and ordering of all printed recruitment materials as well as coordinating CRM communications and managing financial aid social media pages. Should we bring on a Financial Literacy Coordinator, this position would report directly to the Assistant Director of Financial Wellness and Outreach.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:  

Create and conduct workshops, seminars, tabling events, and training sessions, these sessions will include the following topics and more: Financial Aid, Personal Money Management, Debt Management as it relates to both Student Loans and to comprehensive money management skills; oversee events and set up clear event calendars; operate off-Campus outreach programs at local schools to increase the knowledge on UTC affordability, explain the resources UTC has to offer, and highlight our Financial Services and others (Financial Aid, Scholarships, Campus Resources- Financial Wellness Center, Student Outreach and Support, Counseling Center, etc).

 

Train and supervise Peer Financial Coaches/Student Workers to enable them to provide effective one-on-one counseling and group presentations on campus and in the surrounding community during Outreach Events; assist Director & Vice Chancellor with the development and production of printed/digital publication materials; update website and review changes with director as needed; assist with creating department presentations that align with UTC guidelines; assist in making sure all presentations comply with the UTC Guidelines as needed.

 

Oversee Social Media Accounts for the Financial Wellness and Financial Aid Office; provide supervision of student workers and make sure all publications are run through proper channels; counseling with potential students and parents regarding financial aid management and potential financial literacy resources available to assist with funding throughout their college experience (this will require some days off campus at local high schools, community colleges and external sites to recruit); partner with internal and external resources to showcase UTC Financial Aid & Scholarships and Financial Wellness Center; assist with quarterly office trainings with work study students/staff who are customer facing/volunteers to perform back-up functions at tabling events throughout the semester; provide training as needed within the office.

 

Please note there will be specific turn-around times during busier times of the year; goals will be established with Supervisor.

 

The ideal candidate will possess the following:

  • Knowledge of CRM (Customer Relationship Management) system or digital communication plans
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple on-going projects
  • Excellent public speaking skills
  • Multi-tasking and great customer service skills

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years of experience in Financial Literacy and Higher Education.

Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree.
