ROLE of the POSITION
Reporting to the Assistant Director for Student Involvement within the Student Involvement & Activities office this position exists to promote and market involvement opportunities to students. Responsible for the coordination, implementation, marketing, and assessment of the Student Organization Resource Center (SORCE) and providing training and leadership development for student organization members. Responsible for aspects of the student organization registration process for more than 350 student organizations. Responsible for providing leadership development, training opportunities, and supervision for the SORCE student staff. Programs and involvement opportunities are designed with an equity and inclusion lens and marketed to appeal to a diverse and commuter student population. This position is designed to provide continuous services to support student organizations and encourage UNLV students' involvement in a wide array of campus-wide events and activities. Programs and services include but are not limited to: leadership training and resources for student organizations, involvement outreach presentations and initiatives, involvement fairs, student organization workshops, and student organization registration. It is through collaborative efforts of staff, students, and faculty that these programs will be designed and implemented.
Administrative functions include budget management, risk management, and assessment. Through the intentional use of student development theory, cultural identity development theory, and leadership theory this position works to enhance a growing sense of community by fostering students' leadership development and appreciation for involvement in activities focused on personal growth. Ability to work evenings and weekends required.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and 9 months of relevant experience post-bachelors. Experience with university student organizations, student leadership development, or student activities is required. A master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university is preferred. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.
SALARY RANGE
Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
