ROLE of the POSITION

Reporting to the Assistant Director for Student Government and Activities position exists to provide and publicize opportunities for students to participate in the life of the campus through events, traditions, and celebrations. Responsible for directly advising one of two programming boards: SODA (Students Organizing Diversity Activities) or REB (Rebel Events Board). These student program boards work collaboratively with student government and student organizations to design and implement weekly student programming and campus-wide traditions. The Program Coordinator is responsible for ensuring events and involvement opportunities are effectively promoted and appeal to diverse student populations. Administrative functions include budget management, contract management, risk management, and assessment of program initiatives and student learning outcomes. This position supervises an undergraduate Program Assistant and/or Graduate Assistant. Through the intentional use of student development theory and cultural identity development theory this position works to enhance a growing sense of community by fostering students' awareness and appreciation for involvement in co-curricular activities and experiences focused on personal growth and development. This position will contribute to student satisfaction with their collegiate experience by building a sense of campus community and affinity for UNLV. Ability to work evenings and weekends required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

This position requires a master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and a minimum of 9 months of relevant experience as a graduate assistant or post-bachelors.  Experience with university student events is required. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment.

SALARY RANGE

The salary range is $45,000 - $47,000. Position is contingent upon funding.
