Summary

The drug delivery research team under the leadership of Dr. Giovanni M. Pauletti is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral research associate with broad interest and experience in formulation design and development. Dr. Pauletti's lab works closely with The Center for Clinical Pharmacology, a research partnership between Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO and University of Health Sciences and Pharmacy in St. Louis.


The successful candidate will participate in collaborative, NIH- and FDA-funded industry/academia research efforts aimed at creating and testing novel drug delivery systems. Recent PhD graduates with research experience in polymer-based formulation development/assessment and a solid background in pharmaceutics or biomedical engineering are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated experience in formulation development/assessment relevant to topical drug delivery of antimicrobials, HPLC analysis, and in vitro cell culture techniques. The position is available immediately for an initial twelve (12) month appointment with the possibility of extension. Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics or Biomedical Engineering and a good foundation in pharmacokinetics
  • Research experience in polymer formulation development/assessment, HPLC analysis, in vitro cell culture techniques, and pharmacokinetic modeling
  • Interest in contributing to clinical prototype formulations for first-in-human clinical trials
  • Interest in collaborating with formulation scientists, clinicians, and representatives from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
