The Earth Institute at Columbia University awards up to 7 postdoctoral scholars 2-year residential fellowships at Columbia for global sustainable development. The fellowship is offered to outstanding postdoctoral scholars who are interested in pursuing research on sustainable development, including reducing poverty, hunger, disease, and environmental degradation. Fellows will research and interact at Columbia University in New York City. The program offers a unique intellectual surrounding that fosters cross-disciplinary interaction, research and education. Candidates are also encouraged to develop new, innovative projects that connect Earth Institute expertise.
Eligibility & Requirements
Fellows must receive their PhD (or MD or JD) within 5 years prior to beginning their appointment. CV. Brief personal history. Research proposal. 3 letters of recommendation. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply. Applicants are strongly encouraged, but not required, to contact their desired multidisciplinary mentoring team, i.e. 2 or more senior faculty members or research scientists/scholars at Columbia University with whom they would like to work during their appointment.
