Summary

Excellent opportunity for a biomechanical Engineer or movement scientist who wishes to improve her/his skills in digital health, medical field, and hospital industries. Candidate will be part of a highly productive interdisciplinary team from engineers to research coordinators to surgeons and will be involved in clinical and translational research in one of the largest medical centers in the world: Texas Medical Center. The research focus includes remote patient monitoring, digital health, and care in place. Individual will also be responsible for assisting with the preparation of medical/health grant applications to federal and non-federal agencies. The candidate will benefit from an excellent interdisciplinary environment at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Medical Center with interdisciplinary collaboration with top digital health industries and other institutes, including: Rice University, VA Houston, MD Anderson Cancer Center, as well as partnerships with Caltech, University of Southern California, University of Arizona, an University of Missouri through a NSF IUCRC Center to Stream HealthCare in Place (C2SHIP).


Job Duties
  • Plans, directs and conducts specialized and advanced research experiments.
  • Evaluates and analyzes data. 
  • Establishes new research protocols and procedures. 
  • Summarizes research findings and publish results in research journals. 
  • Responsible for laboratory operations. 
  • Supervises research staff. 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Degree in:
    • biomechanical engineering,
    • mechanical Engineering,
    • kinesiology,
    • electrical Engineering,
    • computer science, or related fields
  • Record of publications in top-tier archived journals,
  • Programming skills with Matlab and Python,
  • Prior skills in working with wearables, digital health, motion tracking system, and biomechanics of human body.
