Summary

The postdoctoral neuropsychology fellow will join our diverse group of clinical and research psychologists and neuropsychologists working in a brain and spinal cord injury rehabilitation setting. Fellows will also rotate through a variety of additional sites within the Houston Medical Center, including MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor Neurology, and Texas Children's Hospital. 
 


Job Purpose

Postdoctoral research fellows are trainees working in an apprenticeship mode in preparation for a career as a scientific professional.


Job Duties
  • The fellow will provide clinical assessment and feedback, intervention, and consultation services to patient populations with a broad variety of neurological and psychiatric diagnoses, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, epilepsy, minimally conscious, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurodegenerative disorders, movement disorders, cancer and related conditions.
  • Additional responsibilities will include participation in research and demonstrating research competence by presenting a poster, paper and/or submitting a manuscript for publication.
  • Fellows will also be expected to participate in weekly supervision, attend and present at didactics on relevant topics, and supervise/train other staff and trainees with lesser levels of experience. 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. in Basic Science, Health Science, or a related field.
  • No experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA-approved clinical, counseling, or school psychology program. 
  • Prior neuropsychological experience in administration and interpretation of neuropsychological measures.

  • Basic knowledge of software packages; experience with Windows based programs.
