What You Will Do

The Human Resources Institutional Training Group is seeking a Post Masters intern to help us support the Laboratory’s Training Staff Qualification Program (TSQP). This program trains, develops, and qualifies LANL workers to perform training jobs and functions. In this position, you will assist in the presentation of qualification courses as well as help audit and align curricula for training qualification compliance for workers Lab wide. This is an excellent opportunity for those interested in a career in the employee development and training field. You will get to partner with more senior HR Training staff to help further develop the Training Staff Qualification Program.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with a diverse professional population

  • Exceptional organization skills, including the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects

  • Proficiency in using office productivity software, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

  • Familiarity with instructional system design theories and/or approaches

  • A demonstrated interest in an instructional design discipline as a career field

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience and/or education directly related to Adult Learning theory, learning science, or instructional design.

  • Experience working in a customer service environment.

  • Familiarity with eLearning development tools

Education:

Completed a Master’s degree in Learning Science, Instructional Psychology, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Business Administration or related field within the last 3 years with a GPA of 3.2 or above.

Location:

This position will be located in Los Alamos, NM with the potential for a hybrid work arrangement (partially onsite/partially offsite) from a location within 2 hours ground commute of this location. Reporting onsite will be periodically required. Hybrid is at the discretion of management and can change at any time with appropriate notice.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2-Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

Clearance:Q (Position will be cleared to this level). Applicants selected will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements

  • for access to classified matter. This position requires a Q clearance which requires US Citizenship except in extremely rare circumstances. Dependent upon position, additional authorization to access nuclear weapons information may be required that may or may not be available to dual citizens depending upon the circumstances.

  • Eligibility requirements: To obtain a clearance, an individual must be at least 18 years of age; U.S. citizenship is required except in very limited circumstances. See DOE Order 472.2 for additional information.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
