Job Summary
A postdoctoral position is available with Dong-Sheng Yang at the University of Kentucky in the Department of Chemistry.  Research projects involve the spectroscopic characterization of rare-earth metal complexes and clusters in the gas phase. The metal complexes or clusters are synthesized in a pulsed molecular beam source, and their chemical compositions are identified with time-of-flight mass spectrometry. Spectroscopic measurements include pulsed-field ionization zero electron kinetic energy, mass-analyzed threshold ionization, infrared-ultraviolet photoionization, or photoelectron velocity-map imaging. The spectroscopic measurements are supplemented with quantum chemical calculations.  A description of our research activities and a list of recent publications can be found at https://chem.as.uky.edu/users/dyang0 . The position is initially for one year at an annual rate of $47,476 (US) plus benefits and can be extended upon mutual agreement and availability of funding.
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in chemistry, physics, or related field, with experience in gas-phase molecular-beam laser spectroscopy and quantum chemical computation.
Interested applicants should submit a letter of interest, a CV, and a list of publications (upload as Specific Request 1). In addition, please provide the names and contact information for two-three references when prompted in the academic profile. This information may be utilized to solicit recommendation letters from your references within the employment system.
Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Potential applicants with any questions about the position are welcome to contact Dong-Sheng Yang at [email protected].
