We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join our team at Case Western Reserve University in the laboratory of Dr. Farren Briggs (https://case.edu/medicine/pqhs/about/people/primary-faculty/farren-b-s-briggs-phd-scm). The position is available immediately and will be focused on pursuing metabolomic/genomic studies with an emphasis on multiple sclerosis and other neurological disorders. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. degree (or equivalent) in genetics, genomics, epidemiology, computational biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, computer science, or related field, and have experience and/or interest in computational, analytical, or statistical genomics research. Familiarity with the Unix/Linux environment and programming/scripting in Python and R is preferred. The successful candidate will work as part of established research teams in the following areas:
- Genetics and genomics of multiple sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease
- Metabolomics of multiple sclerosis and other rare demyelinating disorders
- Characterizing gene-environment and complex gene-gene relationships
- Computational methods for analyzing dense genotypic and sequence data in case-control datasets
- Computational methods for mining electronic health record data
