Position Summary | The Program on Integrative Medicine (PIM) within the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is seeking qualified candidates for a Postdoctoral fellowship. Fellowship activities will include the following: -Attendance at the Responsible Conduct of Research courses offered by the NC TraCS Institute. -Attendance at the fall semester course, Principles, and Practices of Alternative and Complementary Medicine Course. -Attendance at the T-32 Fellows Weekly Seminar. -Creation of an individualized professional development plan (IDP) in collaboration with fellowship directors aligns with the Program on Integrative Medicine’s research mission. Meeting with one of the Fellowship Directors every 2-4 weeks to review progress toward goals. Participation in a primary research project with Drs. Gaylord, Faurot, or other approved UNC faculty. -Development of an original research area related to ongoing research projects at the Program on Integrative Medicine or other UNC collaborators. -Coursework at UNC-Chapel Hill relevant to the educational research needs of the fellow. This can be non-degree graduate coursework or coursework as part of a research degree (e.g., MPH, Master’s in Clinical Research). -Attendance at selected local and national seminars and conferences. Presentation of research at one national meeting per year and university or departmental interest groups. -Submission of 3 manuscripts per year to peer-reviewed journals, with at least one first-authored manuscript. -Completion of a brief quarterly report to the Fellowship Co-directors/Advisory Committee on progress toward goals, based on the IDP. Must be a permanent US resident or US citizen. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Applicants must possess a doctoral-level degree (e.g., MD, ND, Ph.D., DO, DC, DOM, PharmD, DPT, DNP) |
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Stated interest in a career involving academic research on complementary, alternative, and integrative health topics is needed. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Previous research experience relating to complementary and integrative medicine is preferred. |
