Job Summary:

Northwestern University has an opening for one postdoctoral position in a lab that focuses on the development of CAR T cell therapy for Tuberous sclerosis Complex. Transgenic T cells will be generated and used in a preclinical model of disease, followed by immune monitoring to evaluate disease remission.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Lab maintenance, ordering materials.
  • Conducting laboratory experiments.
  • Maintaining animals, breeding, genotyping for experiments.
  • Help write grants.
  • Supervising students and colleagues.
  • Help write and prepare manuscripts.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD training in immunology or cell biology.

Minimum Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities.)

  • Familiar with animal work.
  • Sterile cell culture.
  • Computer skills to graph data and analyze results.
  • Molecular biology skills.
  • Understanding of immunology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with immune monitoring techniques.
  • Understanding of the molecular biology of oncogenesis.
  • Experience with adobe illustrator, graphpad, excel comparable programs.
  • Understanding of T cell receptor biology.

Preferred Competencies: (Skills, knowledge, and abilities)

  • Competency in FACS analysis and immunohistology.
  • Familiar with biochemistry techniques.
