Description of Work Unit
The Analytical Resources Core (ARC) is an Institutional Core in the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) at CSU. It is comprised of three centers: Materials and Molecular Analysis, Imaging and Surface Science, and Bioanalysis and Omics. The mission of these laboratories is to provide state-of-the-art analytical and education services in support of CSU research programs.
Position Summary
Temporary Postdoctoral Fellow positions may become available throughout the year in the Analytical Resources Core (ARC). Annual terms and reappointment depend on performance and/or the continued availability of funding.
 
ARC-ISSARC Imaging and Surface Science Center
  • Tiered Options for Installing microscopes and surface measuring tools 
  • Electron, optical, and atomic force imaging (e.g., SEM, TEM, confocal); spectroscopic analysis (e.g., energy-dispersive x-ray spectroscopy, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy); surface characterization (profilometer, contact angle goniometer) 
  • Undergraduate professional internship and graduate research assistant opportunities 
  • Full service or collaborative 

ARC-MMAARC Materials and Molecular Analysis Center
  • NMR, EPR, optical spectroscopy, analytical mass spectrometry, X-ray diffraction and scattering, and magnetic, physical and thermal materials characterization of synthetic, environmental and biological materials, both at the bulk and molecular scale.
  • Research training opportunities on a majority of instruments for self-use and for classroom learning 
  • Undergraduate professional internship and graduate research assistant opportunities 

ARC-BIOARC Bioanalysis and Omics Center
  • Nontargeted Metabolomics, Proteomics, Ionomics services 
  • Targeted Quantitative assays – existing and custom development, small molecules, peptides, metals 
  • Supporting sample preparation, experimental design, data analysis and informatics 
  • Full service or collaborative
