|Advertised Job Summary||
Need post-doctoral candidate to support Nuclear Engineering Program in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of South Carolina. Desired candidate has experience in advanced modeling and simulations of complex oxide and non-oxide systems, utilizing CALPHAD-related approaches. The research will be supported by efforts on thermochemical and thermophysical measurements, such as TGA/DSC, XRD and microanalysis. The ability to learn and use these instruments is desirable.
|Required Education and Experience||
Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or other closely related science or engineering discipline by start date of employment; and experience in CALPHAD-type materials modeling.
A background in the CALPHAD method for assessing thermochemistry and phase equilibria. Experimental experience with thermochemical or thermophysical measurements is also valuable.
