Job Summary
The Department of Family and Preventive Medicine at the University of Utah School of Medicine is seeking highly motivated candidates for a post-doctoral fellowship position. The postdoctoral fellow will have opportunity to participate in extramurally-funded projects focused on the development, implementation and evaluation of intervention in primary care. In particular, this post-doctoral position will be involved in the HRSA- funded Project “Maternal Health Capacity Building for the Medically Underserved in Rural and Urban Utah.” This project seeks to expand the Family Medicine Obstetrics Fellowship Program, aiming to deliver exceptional maternal care to rural and underserved areas. 
 
We seek applications from exceptional individuals with strong quantitative analytic skills in epidemiology, public health, biostatistics, and other related areas. The position is for one year with possibility of renewal for multiple years.
 
The position is designed to prepare individuals for independent academic research careers. Individuals selected for this position will have opportunities to lead and/or co-author manuscript publications and share project investigator role in a manner commensurate with their experience and effort. 
Responsibilities
·  Candidates must be able to perform self-directed research as well as work well with project teams
·  Collaborate with Department of Family and Preventive Medicine research faculty across Divisions and with faculty across the institution
·  Demonstrate effective communication skills: present research at national meetings and author manuscripts for publications in scientific journals
·  Provide guidance to undergraduate and graduate students as part of the research team 
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Preferences
A strong interest and experience in Family Medicine/Primary Care research are mandatory. Also, familiarity with program evaluation and/or data management/ analysis for large datasets is required. Additionally, experience with qualitative research is a plus. Women and individuals from populations underrepresented in biomedical disciplines are strongly encouraged to apply.
