UCLA Center for the Study of Women (CSW) funds 3 PhD students working on their dissertation related to women or gender that uses historical materials and methods. This fellowship is made possible through the generosity of Dr. Barbara "Penny" Kanner, a notable woman historian who earned her PhD in History at UCLA.
Eligibility & Requirements
The object of the study may derive from the social sciences, literature or the arts. Must be registered in a UCLA doctoral program. Dissertation prospectus must pertain to women and/or gender. Research must use historical materials. Materials: Dissertation Abstract or Proposal (maximum 5 single-spaced pages, including works cited), Curriculum Vitae, Unofficial UCLA Transcripts (with most recent coursework), One Letter of Recommendation from faculty members of any university
