JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Department of Anthropology at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, (https://anth.la.psu.edu/ ) invites applications for two part-time undergraduate student openings in the Matson Museum of Anthropology starting Spring Semester 2022. We seek one student to gain training and experience on collections management and one to coordinate outreach to campus stakeholders about future directions in exhibiting the collections. The openings pay $15/hour and can accommodate course schedules.

The mission of the Matson Museum of Anthropology (https://anth.la.psu.edu/matson-museum ) is to support the teaching, research and outreach activities of the Department of Anthropology and the College of the Liberal Arts at The Pennsylvania State University. Our goal is to educate students about the rich diversity of contemporary and ancestral human cultures, the history of human evolution, and scientific explanations for human cultural and biological variability. The Museum displays archaeological and ethnographic objects from around the world and replicas of human and early hominid skeletal remains. Of particular note is the museum’s unique collection of one-hundred-year-old pottery made in villages around the world.
