Position Description:

Your initial contributions to MCW and departmental missions in the areas of teaching, patient care, research, and administration/service will be as follows:

Teaching: You will be expected to assist with the teaching responsibilities of the Department, including undergraduate and graduate medical students at the Medical College of Wisconsin.  The responsibilities include participation in daily rounds, weekly journal clubs, Neurosurgery grand rounds and other didactic and surgical technique interactions.

Patient Care:Approximately 80% of your time will be spent providing neurosurgical patient care while advancing your training in complex spine surgery.  The majority of this service is anticipated to occur at FroedtertHospital. 

Research: It is expected that you will be involved in research and scholarly activities within the research missions of the Department and strategic plan of MCW. 

Administration/Service: You will be expected to participate, to the extent that you may be reasonably called upon, in administrative and/or service functions of the department or on department or MCW committees.

Position Requirements:


1.         Your having U.S. citizenship, permanent resident status, or other appropriate work authorization;

2.         Your agreement to comply with the bylaws, policies, and procedures of MCW, including the Information for Faculty handbook and the Code of Conduct;           

3.         Your obtaining and maintaining an unlimited Wisconsin medical license and DEA registration;

4.         Your acceptance by MCW for professional liability (malpractice) insurance coverage;

5.         Your obtaining and maintaining medical staff membership and clinical privileges at the hospital(s) where you will be assigned;

  • Your eligibility to participate in the Medicare and Medicaid programs and your ability to be credentialed for treatment of managed care patients;
  • Your ability to participate in federal procurement and non-procurement programs; and
  • Your agreement that the Medical College of Wisconsin may complete background checks and eligibility verifications prior to employment and throughout the term of your employment to verify that you meet all eligibility requirements for your appointment and your employment responsibilities.  From time to time during your employment, you will be required to provide written authorization in form satisfactory to the Medical College of Wisconsin.
