Position Summary
The Sumers Recreation Center is seeking applicants for lifeguards. The position's primary function is to provide a safe aquatic environment to members and guests.


Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides a safe aquatic environment to members and guests of the Sumers Recreation Center.
  • Implements all water safety policies and procedures.
  • Supervises and observes swimmers at all times to ensure safety.
  • Enforces rules of conduct.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Three months' of lifeguard experience.
  • Ability to swim laps and dive to the bottom of the pool.


Required Qualifications

REQUIRED LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRATION: Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification

Salary Range
Base pay is commensurate with experience.

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
