Job Description



The University of Oklahoma is seeking a graphic design intern to take the creative needs of the university and turn them into thoughtful and purposeful designs. The Graphic Designer creates print materials, digital graphics, illustrations, layouts, and templates for University of Oklahoma projects. This position supports multiple areas of the Marketing and Communications team as well as some department needs across the University. This individual should be able to move seamlessly between traditional and modern design as well as print and digital formats.


This individual should be an experience in design software and have experience pitching and selling their designs. This role also contributes proofs work created in areas across campus.



  • Works closely with Marketing and Communications teams to meet project objectives

  • Assist the event team in creating printed materials for all university-level events

  • Creates purposeful designs with a variety of styles and is able to pitch those designs

  • Protects the brand of the University of Oklahoma

  • Contributes to a team environment with positive and proactive communication


Job Requirements


Required Education: Must be currently enrolled in the current Term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

  • Must attach Spring 2020 class schedule.

  • Must have completed 30 credit hours and submitted the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

  • Must be currently enrolled in 12 hours for the Spring Term


  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite

  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently

  • Self-motivated

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities from different areas

Departmental Preferences:
  • Experience in Illustration
