Job Description


This position assists the Sooner Jump Start communications team with social media management. Primary focus will be maintaining the varies social media account for Sooner Jump Start and Program planning.

Job responsibilities include: 

  • Maintaining social media accounts
  • Taking photo/video as needed during SJS events and activities
  • Assisting with program planning
  • Various data projects
  • Communicating events and activities to all SJS students

This position is part of the Learn & Earn Jobs program which offers students opportunities to practice real world professional skills that will help them prepare for employment after graduation.


Job Requirements


Required Education: Must be currently enrolled as a student at the University of Oklahoma as a sophomore or higher in standing. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.

  • Must attach Spring 2019 class schedule

  • Must have completed 30 credit hours and submitted the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)

  • Must be currently enrolled in 11 hours for the spring 2019 Term 

  • Must attach a list of references



  • Advanced familiarity with Microsoft Office.

  • Knowledge of photography and general basic camera skills.

  • Ability to work with a flexible schedule.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)

  • Knowledge of Adobe

Department Preference:
  • International experience including travel and interaction with other cultures
