The Mustard Seed Foundation (MSF) offers 1-year fellowships to 15 Christian graduate students studying in areas where Christians are generally underrepresented. The awards are tenable in the U.S. and abroad. The program aims to support Christian graduate students as they attain an education and plan their professional goals. Fellowships may be renewed up to two additional years.
Eligibility & Requirements
Open to Christians who demonstrate leadership potential and the desire to integrate their faith with all spheres of life. Applicants must be enrolled in or have applied to a full-time graduate program. PhD applicants must submit a recommendation letter from their primary adviser. Graduate programs must be among the top 5 for a particular specialty. Applicants should be in fields considered to be underrepresented by Christians. Funding is contingent upon attendance at a Summer Institute, typically held in Washington, DC in June. Resume or CV. Vocational goal statement. Affirmation of the Lausanne Covenant. 5 essays. Test scores (GRE, LSAT, GMAT). Official transcripts. Work sample. School and degree program information. PhD students (or applicants with longer degree programs) who have begun their programs are generally more competitive. Should be involved with a local church. 4 letters of recommendation, each must come from: 1) Current Local Church. 2) Academic Advisor. 3) Academic or Professional Field. 4) Other Spiritual Recommender.
