Job Summary
The University of Kentucky is excited to announce new positions in the Collaborative Grant Services (CGS) office/unit of the Vice President of Research. These positions are the result of a nearly year-long initiative to enhance administrative support for sponsored research at the University by providing high-quality, customer-service focused, and compliant research administration support to a large and varied group of investigators – faculty, staff, and students who are involved in innovative research across numerous disciplines, creating, discovering, and exploring the most complex problems facing Kentucky, our nation and the world.
We invite you to join us as the Pre & Post Award Manager or Complex Grants Hub Manager. These positions are needed to provide leadership to support pre-award and post-award functions within an assigned hub. Both positions will support the Pre Award Assistant Director, Post Award Assistant Director, and Executive Director and interact regularly with stakeholder leadership across the University. They will manage a pre-award team and post-award team that includes Team Leads, Functional Leads, and staff. The ideal applicant for either position must demonstrate an expert level of knowledge of regulations, requirements, and functions of research administration, with extensive experience in grant proposal, grant management, and pre-award & post-award guidelines and requirements, including federal Uniform Guidance.
They must have experience in designing processes for successful proposal submission, grant management, and facilitate related effective and helpful services for the campus community, including regular assessment and process improvement. This includes the development of training on policies, processes, and compliance for CGS staff, college/department administrators, and faculty. They will also serve as the primary pre-award and post-award research administration and subject matter expert within an assigned hub for CGS pre-award staff, post-award staff, associate deans of research, and other college research administrators.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, SAP. NIH eRA Commons Preferred.
Does this position have supervisory responsibilities? Yes
Preferred Education/Experience
Master’s degree or equivalent plus six years related experience. Working knowledge of federal grant and academic institution sponsored research regulations. Certified Research Administrator (CRA) preferred.
