Description of Work

Preventive Medicine Residency, Department of Family Medicine, UNC SOM

This position is for a Research Assistant to support the UNC Preventive Medicine Residency (PMR) program. The Research Assistant will assist the Director and Faculty directly in tasks related to evaluation of the UNC PMR. The Research Assistant will also support provide support for resident and faculty scholarly activity. The UNC PMR has hired 3 prior RAs from HPM to support evaluation and performance monitoring activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Develop and administer a web-based survey to recent graduates of the Preventive Medicine Residency
Continue development and implementation of a dashboard (current draft in Excel) to guide continuous residency program improvement
Assist with preparation and format of presentations, posters, manuscripts, and other program performance evaluation products
Meet regularly and maintain regular communication with program faculty and/or program director
Assist with data collection, statistical analysis, manuscript preparation or other tasks which support scholarly activity of PMR residents and faculty
Other miscellaneous duties as assigned

Education and Experience

Minimum Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience necessary to perform the work.

Preferred Experience:
Advanced skills in Excel
At least 1 year experience in health-related research and/or evaluation
Ability to use Qualtrics data collection software
Experience with data management
Experience with dashboard development and/or data visualization
Experience with basic quantitative and/or qualitative analysis

Proficiency with Excel
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Proficiency with EndNote or other reference software
