Barry University is a private Catholic university in Miami Shores, Florida. The university offers more than 100 degree programs, from bachelor's to doctorate, in six schools and two colleges. Stamps Scholars Program @ Barry

Barry University partners with the Stamps Scholars Program to award multi-year scholarships to help driven and talented student leaders achieve their education and life goals. Stamps Scholars pursue their educational interests while developing their leadership skills with merit-based financial aid including enrichment funds that can be used for study abroad, cultural exchanges, research projects, and other educational experiences. 

With the generous support of the Stamps Scholars Program, the program invests in an exclusive group of high-achieving incoming freshmen with an interest in leadership and service. Barry University provides matching dollars to provide a full merit scholarship. 

Stamps Scholars also join a community of more than 2600 current and alumni Stamps Scholars worldwide with whom they network and share their experiences.

Eligibility

Scholarships are open for first-year freshmen.

US citizens, residents, and international students are eligible to apply. 

- You must have a high school GPA of 3.5 or higher 

- And have demonstrated active leadership. 


How to Apply

The Barry Stamps Scholarship application process opens in mid-September of each year for first-year freshmen planning to enroll during the following fall semester. You must first be accepted to Barry University and meet minimum GPA requirements to apply.

Applicants must complete the online application form, submit an essay, and supporting documentation, providing evidence of their leadership & community service. Semi-finalists will be selected to participate in a telephone interview with the Barry Stamps Admissions Review Committee comprised of faculty and administrators in February. 

Finalists will then be chosen and scheduled for an interview with the Stamps Scholars Program during the month of March. Normally applicants will be notified of a decision by April. 


Supporting documentation must be relevant to your application and can include a letter of support, high school co-curricular activity records, certificate of achievement or other documents of recognition, newspaper or other press clippings, and/or short video (3-minute maximum, can be on YouTube or other platform)

If submitting a video, tell them about yourself, your interests, and why you would like to be part of the Barry community. Include anything that you believe would support your application that you did not adequately convey in your application or essay.


After submitting your application, you will receive an acknowledgment email from the university. You can submit your transcripts in PDF or another image file format through your myBarry account or by emailing them. When you send Barry Uni your transcripts and test scores, they are considered unofficial. But the university can still use them to give you a provisional admissions decision.

Your admissions decision will only be final once we get your official transcripts and test scores. Those must be sent directly from the school or testing agency to Barry University Recruitment and Admissions.

You will need to send Transcripts from all post-secondary institutions

TOEFL scores, if English is not the primary language of instruction

Final end of schooling examination results, if applicable

Official translations of all credentials, if documents are in a language other than English.
