We are growing our undergraduate enrollment, strategically and deliberately, and are looking for an experienced, relationship-oriented and data-driven professional to lead recruitment and outreach initiatives; leverage the Schools scholarships to yield and support admitted students; and demonstrate to donors the impact of their gifts on the student experience.
The Director will manage a team, including a scholarship manager and interns, while collaborating with and galvanizing many across the School and campus, to develop and execute the Schools enrollment and scholarship strategy. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Student Services, this role is full time and in person on the University of Wisconsin-Madison campus, and is embedded in a team that works passionately to advise and support students so they graduate from our academic programs and can thrive.
Scholarship Leadership and Administration Responsibilities:
o Leads and develops data-driven scholarship strategy; ensures appropriate use of resources to align with and accomplish recruitment and retention goals and meet donor intent
o Provides strategic oversight of scholarship plans that support the recruitment, retention, and academic success of the students
o Develops and implements scholarship processes that comply with policies and regulations, and advance strategic enrollment and stewardship priorities
o Works collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to coordinate services and maintain compliance with financial aid expectations.


Responsibilities:
Directs strategy and execution of programs and procedures involved in the recruitment, evaluation, and selection of students seeking entrance to the assigned unit in support of achieving institutional, enrollment-related strategic goals.
  • 10% Directs unit admissions strategic planning initiatives and establishes recruitment and enrollment goals
  • 10% Develops unit admissions operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, institutional policies, and unit objectives
  • 5% Develops the unit admissions budget
  • 20% Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
  • 25% Serves as the school or college liaison to internal and external stakeholder groups providing admission information and representing the admissions interests of the school or college
  • 10% Advises school or college leadership on unit enrollment planning and management
  • 20% Scholarship leadership and administration (see details under Job Summary)

Qualifications:

Required skills and experiences:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience required in admissions and/or recruitment, or financial aid and scholarships administration
- Evidence of strong relationship building and collaboration skills; ability to persuade, influence and galvanize others
- Ability to tabulate, assess, and present data to make strategic decisions about enrollment and scholarships
- Demonstrated supervisory experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated ability to make professional presentations to stakeholder groups
- Experience leading teams to set and meet goals that align with a vision
Preferred experience and knowledge:
- Experience developing and executing recruitment, outreach, and/or enrollment plans
- Experience using customer relationship management (CRM) tools and scholarship administration platforms
- Knowledge of the higher education recruitment cycle and best practices in recruiting, admitting, and enrolling students
- Experience supporting students who have been historically underrepresented in higher education


Work Type:

Full Time: 100%
It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, on-site, at a designated campus work location. Occasional travel and off-site work is expected.

Minimum $90,000 ANNUAL (12 months)
