Oversees efficient and effective operations of the TRIO/Student Support Services Program. Plans, develops, manages and administers programs and program operations and is accountable for allocation of resources and program results. Supervises the delivery and evaluation of program services to ensure progress and compliance in the area of student recruitment, retention and graduation of program participants. Serves as an advocate for first generation/low income students in various university settings. Responsible for proposal and federal grant writing and reporting. Interacts professionally with all internal and external customers using strong interpersonal skills.
Master’s degree. Five years progressively responsible administrative experience in an area related to the provision of academic and student support services, including fiscal/budget operations, grant writing and staff supervision. Experience in development and/or delivery of developmental educational programming for economically and educationally under-prepared or disadvantaged students. Demonstrated ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty/staff and community. Strong writing skills. Superior knowledge and experience with data collection, analysis and management. Knowledge and skill in the use of student information systems, early alert systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
Five years experience in higher education. Three years experience in TRIO programs. Experience with federally funded grants and the student financial aid process. Demonstrated successful grant writing and grant/budget management experience.
