This fellowship funds research projects of up to two years in duration that will advance the state of knowledge underlying high priority science issues that affect the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta (Delta) and its management as an integrated socio-ecological system. Fellows work on collaborative data analysis and research projects applicable to the California Bay-Delta system. The goal of funding this research is to invest in knowledge that will fundamentally advance the understanding of the complex environments and systems within the Bay-Delta system to aid policy-makers and managers, and to train the next generation of research scientists for water issues in California.


Eligibility & Requirements

Title or cover page. Project summary. Project narrative. Budget and budget justification. 3 letters of reference. 2 letters of support (1 letter of support from the prospective mentor and 1 letter of commitment from the research mentor). Transcripts. Predoctoral candidates must be in or have recently been admitted to a PhD degree program at any accredited US institution of higher education. Candidates must remain associated with an accredited US institution of higher learning for the duration of the award. Details available on agency's website.
