Description: Job Summary Under the general supervision of the Manager of Custodial Services and immediate supervision of the Custodial Supervisor and Lead Custodian, performs custodial, janitorial, and maintenance duties in assigned areas and other related work as assigned. Key Responsibilities
Knowledge Skills and Abilities Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to perform repeated bending, stooping, lifting, reaching activities. i.e. pushing/pulling fully loaded custodial carts, reaching to clean blackboards, bending and stooping to do spot cleaning, empty trash cans, etc. Ability to read, speak, and understand at a level appropriate to the position. Experience working in a university or large institution. Good interpersonal communication skills. Excellent customer skills. Ability to get along with a diverse campus community. Ability to operate power cleaning equipment. Use custodial systems such as those to track work orders and two-way radios for communication. Ability to organize work assignments and custodial closets. Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community. Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures. Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student, and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence." Education and Experience Solid work history. Valid California driver’s license. Department PPFM - Custodial Compensation The salary range for this classification is $16.80 to $24.21/hour. Time Base Hourly/intermittent on call temporary position for one year with no permanent status granted. Temporary assignments may expire prior to the ending date.
