Supervision

General supervision received from the Associate Director of Student Activities.  Functional supervision/advisement of two to seven ASUW Commission / Program Directors committee chairs.

Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree and 2 years full-time student activities or related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired.
Experience working with and sensitivity to, diverse groups of students.  Knowledge of trends and issues affecting historically underrepresented and marginalized student communities.

Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Higher Education / Student Affairs, or a related field
A comprehensive knowledge of higher education administration and student development / student personnel..
Experience working at a large urban university, working with social justice issues, and with socially active student movements.
Equivalent combination and experience may substitute for required qualifications.
