Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) with AUPHA annually awards 2 master's students a scholarship in healthcare management for 2 years. The Association of University Programs In Health Administration (AUPHA) and HCA Holdings, Inc., is proud to sponsor the HCA Corris Boyd Scholars Program. This program was established in honor of a healthcare leader who dedicated his life to diversity and excellence in leadership – especially among ethnic minorities. Award winners will be chosen based on the strength of their leadership skills and their commitment to healthcare management.


Eligibility & Requirements

Must have applied and been accepted into an AUPHA Full Member master's degree program for start in Fall of the next academic year. Must be a full-time student. Be a student of African American, American Indian/Alaska Native, Asian American, Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, Latino/Hispanic, or Multiracial ethnicity. Have a minimum 3.0 GPA on undergraduate coursework. Unofficial GRE or GMAT score report. Resume. Personal statement explaining why applicant is choosing to pursue a career in healthcare management and addressing why he or she should be selected based on the selection criteria. Submit 3 letters of recommendation signed and on letterhead. Financial Support. Official transcripts from all higher education institutions.
