Assists Director, Research & Sponsored Programs, faculty, and staff with the development and coordination of grant proposals. Assists with daily operations of the department.

  • Identifies funding opportunities and sponsors; reviews solicitations to confirm programs align with the university's strengths, faculty expertise, and research agendas; disseminates information to faculty and staff regarding federal, state, foundation, and corporate agencies by creating a monthly newsletter and targeted communications.
  • Assists faculty and staff with the development and preparation, including the budget, and review and editing of proposals; tracks deadlines to ensure time submission of proposals; ensures compliance with federal, state, and university requirements.
  • Maintains a system to monitor cyclical funding opportunities of interest and records of submitted proposals.
  • Manages a database of distributed and pending grant opportunities, and manages a system to promote interdisciplinary and collaborative research between faculty.
  • Maintains an information system for frequently required data for proposal development; maintains institutional and unit data; writes and maintains templates, boilerplate text, and other support documentation for proposal development activities.
  • Interacts with sponsor representatives to interpret rules, regulations, and compliance issues; remains current on changes in federal and state rules and regulations, and university policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates events and conducts grant and compliance-related workshops and training to the campus community.
  • Manages departmental administration, which includes property management, processing expenditures and travel, updating web pages, and creating and maintaining accessible forms.

    Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field Minimum Experience: (3) years related experience or equivalent combination of education and recent related experience
