What You Will Do

The Controller Accounting Division (CNTL-DO) delivers financial products and services in support of the Laboratory’s mission. Our Financial management focus includes the following:

  • Perform Work in the Accounting and Administrative Field.

  • Integrating processes and systems across the Controller Division.

  • Providing quality business processes and systems throughout the Laboratory.

  • Partnering with the programs and technical divisions to strengthen our business capabilities.

  • Providing stewardship of Laboratory, NNSA and sponsor resources.

  • Building alliances with NNSA, DOE, LASO, and the ABQ Service Center.

  • Maintain a safe and secure working environment.

  • Work as a team member with direction from your mentor.

What You Need

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • Provide documentation of acceptance into an undergraduate program.

  • Enroll in and successfully complete a minimum of 12 undergraduate credit hours per semester (or the equivalent of full time enrollment).

  • Have and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on 4.0 scale.

  • Pass a new employment drug test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Desired Qualifications:(skills that are nice to have, but not necessary)

  • Experience and/or education in the Accounting or Business Field.

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel.

Education Required:

Student must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s program with a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.

Location: This position will be physically located in Los Alamos.

The Accounting Undergraduate Internship program is designed for the student pursuing their undergraduate degree in the Accounting or Business field. Students will be placed in various positions within the Accounting organization.

Additional Details

Directive 206.2-Employment with Triad requires a favorable decision by NNSA indicating employee is suitable under NNSA Supplemental Directive 206.2 . Please note that this requirement applies only to citizens of the United States. Foreign nationals are subject to a similar requirement under DOE Order 142.3A.

No Clearance: Position does not require a security clearance. Selected candidates will be subject to drug testing and other pre-employment background checks.

New-Employment Drug Test: The Laboratory requires successful applicants to complete a new-employment drug test and maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.

Internal Applicants: Regular appointment employees who have served the required period of continuous service in their current position are eligible to apply for posted jobs throughout the Laboratory.
