The Asian Pacific American Institute for Congressional Studies (APAICS) supports 5 fellowships for up to 1 year in Washington DC for graduates and professionals. The fellowship is also sponsored by Southwest Airlines. This program offers full-time legislative and public policy fellowships providing exceptional graduates and young professionals with an opportunity to work on policy issues as staff members of a congressional office. The program aims to build leadership skills, encourage political civic engagement, and foster a strong interest in public service careers. In addition to the general fellowships, APAICS is currently offering 2 specialized fellowships focusing on: financial services (1-year fellowship) and science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM).


Eligibility & Requirements

Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of Asian American and Pacific Islander issues. Leadership experience. Excellent oral and written skills. For exceptional graduates and young professionals. Cover letter. Resume. Official transcripts. 2 letters of recommendation. Writing samples.


Academic Level

Prospective Graduate Student. Current Graduate Student.
