Job Summary:
The Communications Strategist is a direct report to the University?s Chief Communications Officer and serves on the senior leadership team in University Communications. Responsibilities include:Works collaboratively with the CCO, Business Affairs and Student Affairs senior leadership and the Chief Sustainability Officer to develop and execute communication plans for Business Affairs, Student Affairs and university-wide Sustainability initiatives.Writes/advises on speeches and written communications for senior Business Affairs and Student Affairs leadership and the Chief Sustainability Officer.Serves as senior advisor to CCO on communications regarding Business Affairs, Student Affairs and Sustainability strategic initiatives.Writes and edits content about strategic initiatives within the areas of Business Affairs and Student Affairs, coordinates with Senior writer/Editor on media pitches, crafts social media posts and coordinates with Social Media Manager on social media strategy for Business Affairs, Student Affairs and Chief Sustainability Officer.Assists CCO in developing institutional-level communication plans and ensuring consistency with university and Chancellor ?voice? across university publications.Assists CCO in collaborations with Communication Liaisons in the areas of Student Affairs and Business Affairs, and serves as the primary communications representative for the Office of Sustainability, in order to meet overall institutional communication goals and objectives.Assists University Marketing Director in writing, editing and developing SEO for marketing/PR materials as needed.Develop content for social media/blog posts representing Business Affairs and Student Affairs leadership and Chief Sustainability Officer ?voice.?Collaborate with writing team to copy edit news stories and internal messages from Business Affairs and Student Affairs units prior to publishing.Work with Chief Sustainability Officer on key internal and external messages, in collaboration with CCO.Research communications tools and methods successfully implemented within higher education and private-sector institutions, offering ideas and suggestions that help the UComm team remain current and responsive to changing communications priorities, options and technologies.The Communications Strategist positions will also participate on the writing team to edit other writers? copy and assist with the coordination of various aspects of special projects.  
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor?s degree in a discipline related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
