UCLA Center for European and Russian Studies (CERS) offers summer language study grants to UCLA grad students to study a European or Russian language. CERS strives to inform UCLA and its surrounding area about Europe and Russia through research and cultural events. Language study will be part of a student's research preparation.
Eligibility & Requirements
Applicants must be UCLA graduate students working on Europe or Russia. Priority is given to project that focus on the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries; however, all projects of serious academic merit that focus on Europe or Russia will be considered (please check the geographical coverage here: web.international.ucla.edu/euro/countries). Project descriptions must demonstrate how the project will advance knowledge of European or Russian societies, histories, or cultures. CV. Abstract. Description of the proposed summer research project, including a detailed outline of the research agenda and how the grant would further it. Itemized budget. 2 letters of recommendation from faculty members are also required. 1 of the letters of recommendation should be from the student's principal advisor.
