CTD's objective is to recognize and reward outstanding student achievement. This supplemental award is intended to help American Indian students of any age, from any tribe, within any state, striving to get an education.

Additional criteria: 

This scholarship requires the following additional eligibility criteria/information:

Since CTD is a supplemental aid program, applicants are required to apply for all other sources of funding for which they are eligible. Applicants who do not apply for other aid will not have their applicant evaluated. Submit copies of applications and responses for all other source funding.
Must be an enrolled member and possess one-quarter or more American Indian blood from a federally recognized, state recognized, or terminated U.S. Tribe. Submit a copy of certificate of Indian Blood.
FNA (financial needs analysis) that has been completed by the applicant's institutional financial aid officer
three letters of recommendation
a copy of the Federal Tax Return for the previous year
official transcripts and test scores (ACT/SAT/GRE/MCAT/LSAT, etc)
DD214 Form (for military personnel only)
copy of certification of admission
photograph (2"X3") of good quality for use in the CTD newsletters and/or publications


Donor preferences: 

All awards are based on merit, academic achievement, and ambition. Faxed application and/or documents will not be accepted. Do not staple, bind, or clip any part of the application, leave it loose leaf.
